10 adults, 7 nights in August
10 × 7 × €2.00 = €140.00, or €154.00 including 10% VAT - that is €2.20 per person per night.
Family of 2 adults and 2 children (aged 8 and 14), 10 nights in July
The children are exempt. Per adult: 8 nights × €2.00 + 2 nights × €1.00 = €18.00. For both €36.00, or €39.60 including VAT.
6 adults, 7 nights in April
6 × 7 × €0.50 = €21.00, or €23.10 including VAT.

Who pays the Ecotasa - and who does not?
- All guests aged 16 and over staying in tourist accommodation in the Balearic Islands - Ibiza, Formentera, Mallorca and Menorca.
- Children under 16 are exempt.
- From the 9th night in the same accommodation the tax is halved.
- The tax has applied since 1 July 2016.
How do you pay the Ecotasa with Ibiza Haus?
For most of our houses the Ecotasa is already included in the rental price. For some houses it is payable on arrival. We tell you which applies to your house in the reservation confirmation.
Ibiza Haus rents out holiday homes with a tourist licence; the licence number is shown on every property page.
What is the money used for?
The revenue goes into a Balearic government fund that offsets the impact of tourism on Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera:
- Environment: protecting nature parks, the sea, native flora and fauna
- Sustainable tourism: e.g. walking and cycling routes, so more visitors come outside the summer
- Cultural heritage: restoring historic buildings and archaeological sites
- Research: projects against climate change and on tourism
- Training and jobs, especially in the low season
