Holidays Without Fixed Dates

Some of the most significant festivals in Ibiza take place on different days each year. The May Day festival in Santa Eulària, traditionally celebrated on the first Sunday in May, marks the start of spring with music, dancing, and blooming flower markets.

Carnival, which falls in either February or March depending on the year, brings the island to life with colorful parades, creative costumes, and joyful celebrations. Easter is also a major celebration on Ibiza, with processions on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday that exude spiritual depth and impressive splendor.

Holidays with Fixed Dates

January
The year begins with New Year's Day on January 1st and continues with the Feast of the Three Kings on January 6th. This day is especially exciting for children as they receive gifts.

Spring: February to April

In spring, Santa Eulària celebrates its village festival on February 12th, and March 1st is Balearic Islands Day, when the region celebrates its unique culture. March 19th is dedicated to Sant Josep, the patron saint of many places on the island.

In April, the village festival in Sant Vicent (April 5th) and Sant Jordi (April 23rd) delight with traditional foods and folk music.

Summer Highlights: May to August

Summer brings not only sun and beach fun but also some of the most popular festivals. June 24th is the day of Sant Joan (San Juan), where the summer solstice is celebrated with bonfires, music, and dancing. In July, July 16th is dedicated to Virgen del Carmen, the patron saint of fishermen and sailors.

A special day is August 8th, Sant Ciriac, which commemorates the Catalan conquest of the island. A colorful fireworks display in Ibiza Town marks the grand finale of this historic holiday.

Autumn and Winter: September to December

Autumn begins with village festivals in small towns like Jesus (September 8th) and Sant Mateu (September 21st). In October, October 12th, "Día de la Hispanidad," brings Spanish history and traditions to the island.

In winter, holidays like the Spanish Constitution Day (December 6th) and Christmas bring peaceful moments. The traditional nativity scenes and festively decorated towns are especially charming.
