How to Arrive Relaxed in Ibiza - Travel Tips. There are various easy ways to reach Ibiza. Whether by plane, car with a ferry, or other means, the island is easily accessible throughout the year.
Arrival in / to Ibiza:
Flight / Flights / Airplane
Ibiza is conveniently accessible year-round from various German airports. Especially during the summer season, from May to October, there are numerous direct connections available for vacationers. Many charter airlines offer affordable flights daily - ideal for both package tourists and individual travelers.
For example, the flight time from Düsseldorf is only about 2.5 hours. In the winter season, however, the flight options are limited, and most connections go via Palma de Mallorca.
Ibiza Airport is located only 6 kilometers from Ibiza Town. A regularly operating bus line connects the airport with the city - from 7:30 AM to 10:35 PM every 60 minutes. For a faster and more comfortable journey, a taxi is a great option. The ride into the city center costs about 18 euros.

In the summer months, Ibiza is particularly well connected: Numerous direct and connecting flights from all over Europe make the journey to this Mediterranean paradise especially easy.
Fewer Charter Flights, Focus on Scheduled Flights
In the winter season, only a few charter flights are offered to Ibiza. Instead, scheduled flights dominate the offerings. These connect the island directly or with stopovers through European hubs to numerous cities. Despite limited flight connections, Ibiza remains well accessible in winter - especially through larger airports like Palma de Mallorca.
Car / Arrival by Car
Traveling by car: An option for explorers - Traveling by car from Germany to Ibiza is especially interesting for those who plan to make stops and overnight stays along the way. For example, the distance from Düsseldorf to Barcelona is about 1,420 kilometers. On French and Spanish highways, tolls apply - from the French-Spanish border to Barcelona, these tolls amount to about 15 €.
From Barcelona, it’s another 351 kilometers to Valencia (Toll: approx. 50 €) and then another 105 kilometers to Denia (Toll: approx. 12 €). Regular ferries to Ibiza operate from these coastal cities. Especially during the summer season, the ferries are highly booked, so it's recommended to reserve the crossing early.
Traveling by car allows you to experience the fascinating landscapes and culture of southern France and Spain before crossing to the island.

Ferry connections to Ibiza and Formentera: Flexible and versatile - The large ferries that connect Ibiza and Formentera with the Spanish mainland offer a convenient transport option for passengers, cars, trucks, and buses. Regular connections exist from the cities of Barcelona, Valencia, and Denia. Especially in the summer season, when demand is high, it is recommended to reserve tickets in advance.
Duration of crossings:
Denia: Daily connections with a journey time of 3 to 4 hours.
Valencia: 3 to 5 trips weekly, duration: 5 to 6 hours.
Barcelona: 3 to 5 trips weekly, duration: 8 to 9 hours.
With their flexible schedules and the option to take vehicles along, the ferries are an ideal choice for a relaxed arrival to the island.
