City Beaches in the South

The ideal place to enjoy island life while relaxing on the beach or lingering in the lively street cafés. Experience the beauty and charm of Ibiza Town and let yourself be enchanted by its unique beaches!

Talamanca

At the end of Avenida 8 de Agosto, you stand on the fine white sand in front of the Bar Flotante. On the back side of Illa Grossa, behind the harbor basin, just a few meters from Marina Botafoch, the lovely Talamanca beach stretches in a semicircle around the cove.

The shallow water is exceptionally child-friendly, and although, like at almost all larger sandy beaches on the island, a whole tourist district with hotels, apartments, restaurants, and shops has developed here, it is still much quieter than in Ses Figueretes or Playa d'en Bossa. While most of Talamanca is already part of the Santa Eulalia municipality, we wanted to include the beach under Ibiza Town due to its proximity to the city and accessibility (both a bus and a water taxi take you to the center).

Behind Talamanca rises Cap Martinet, where many celebrities have their luxury villas during the summer. On the main road high above the beach is the Destino Pacha Ibiza Resort.

One of the highlights of the resort is the breathtaking view of the Mediterranean Sea, as well as a variety of first-class amenities, including exquisite restaurants, stylish bars, a luxurious pool area, and exclusive beach access. The resort is also known for its events and parties, attracting guests from all over the world and making Ibiza a worldwide hotspot for entertainment.

Ses Figueretes

At the other end of Ibiza Town, heading west, is the neighborhood of Ses Figueretes. From the end of Avenida España, it only takes a few meters to reach the lovely beach promenade. Here, city hotels, which are only open in the summer, are lined up with their respective restaurants. The entire district was developed during the first tourism boom. The beach, which is quite small for the number of hotels, is overcrowded in the high season; however, the city center is easily accessible on foot.

The beach offers easy access and is extremely comfortable and beautiful for swimming. Although it is located in an urban area, it has fine sand and clear water. Sunbeds, umbrellas, and public showers are available.

Es Viver

Es Viver, although administratively part of the municipality of San Jose, is located in close proximity to Ibiza Town, between Figueretas and Playa d'en Bossa. This small beach is home to a small harbor, from which water taxis and ferries to Formentera depart in the summer. Es Viver is a lively yet relaxed spot, right next to the hotels, frequented by both locals and visitors alike.

With its idyllic location and the ability to quickly reach other parts of the island, Es Viver is a popular destination for travelers who want to make the most of their Ibiza experience.

Playa d'en Bossa

Behind Es Viver stretches the fine white sand of Playa d'en Bossa, the longest beach on the island, marking the border with the municipality of Sant Josep. For a long time, Playa d'en Bossa was considered the most beautiful beach in Ibiza.

Now, the locals leave the fun of bathing in the shallow waters behind the nearly continuous hotel chain to the vacationers, who enjoy the lively atmosphere. The numerous planes flying over Playa d'en Bossa towards the nearby airport are often seen as disruptive. On some parts of the beach, like Bora Bora Disco Beach, the music even drowns out the noise from the planes. In the area, among the usual restaurants, bars, and shops, there are also some nightclubs, including Ushuaïa & Hi, which make a splash as day clubs for those who want to experience Ibiza's nightlife for 24 hours straight.

At the very end of the beach, on the edge of the Ses Salines Nature Reserve, rises the Torre de la Sal Rossa, one of the oldest watchtowers on the island. In the Middle Ages, guards kept watch for pirates to warn the salt workers of impending danger with smoke signals.

Los Molinos

A small district near Ibiza Town, located on a hill between the imposing fortress of Dalt Vila with its majestic cathedral. Along the rocky coastline, there are some small sandy sections that invite swimming in the crystal-clear waters. This district is characterized by its central location, allowing visitors to easily walk into the city.
