The Beaches in the South-East
Discover the most beautiful beaches and coves in the municipality of Santa Eulalia. From idyllic coves for relaxation to popular beaches for watersports - Santa Eulalia offers the perfect beach paradise for every taste.
Pou des Lleó

Pou des Lleo & Canal d'en Martí - The small fishing cove, where even a freshwater spring is hidden between the cliffs, which is how the place got its name (Pou means well), is perfect for romantics. The sandy beach is small, and there is a lot of seaweed. A beach shack and two good seafood restaurants - one on the rocks, the other on the road inland - do not disturb the peace. A beautiful walk takes you around the southern side of the cove to the old 17th-century watchtower Torre d'en Valls, which lies directly opposite the island of Tagomago.

What makes Cala de Boix special is its black sand, quite unique for Ibiza. The cove is deeply cut into forested rocks, and Cap Roig protects it from northern winds. The access is steep, and like most beaches that you can't drive directly to, this protected it from development. Below, there is a small beach shack, and at the top by the parking lot, there are two restaurants.

Cala de Boix

Playa Es Figueral (Map)
A typical family beach with a lot of sand and shallow water, where a club hotel is located. The wide beach is almost entirely filled with sunbeds in the peak summer season. However, the few shops in the area do not give the feeling of a holiday resort.
Es Canar (Map)
At the relatively small Playa des Canar with a wide sandy beach, one of the first holiday developments on the island was established. Es Canar has since become one of the largest tourist centers in Ibiza. Many hotels, shops, bars, and restaurants thrive here. At the Punta Arabi Club at the end of the street, the oldest and largest hippie market in Ibiza is held every Wednesday: a sea of stands that makes souvenir hunting a shopping frenzy. Those with patience, who are not put off by the dust and crowds, can even discover original handicrafts among the consumer goods.
S'Aigua Blanca (Map)
The northernmost beach of the municipality of Santa Eulalia is characterized by crystal-clear shallow water and fine white sand. High rugged cliffs surround it, leaving no space for hotel developments. The path down is steep. Aguas Blancas is the second nudist beach in Ibiza (the other is Es Cavallet in the municipality of San José), but nudists usually stay at the smaller second beach, which is separated from the first by a rock formation that extends into the water. The beautiful view of Tagomago and a cozy little beach shack are additional attractions.
Cala Llonga (Map)
South of Santa Eulalia, the small Cala Llonga cuts deep into the land between Punta Roja and Cap des Llibrell, as its name suggests (Cala Llonga = long bay). The short but wide sandy beach is fully occupied by hotel guests, whose accommodations are built into the cliffs around it. Watersports, restaurants, pubs, mini discos - Cala Llonga is a place for young holidaymakers who want to be entertained.
Es Caló de s'Alga
Cala Nova (Map)
At the northern end of Cala Nova, where the steep coastline with many holiday homes rises, the pine forest almost reaches the beach. There is a campsite under the trees. In the wide cove, sandy beaches and flat rocks alternate. At one spot, a phone booth stands surreal in the sand. From the urbanization at the southern end, a promenade leads to Playa des Canar.
Cala Mastella (Map)
Cala Mastella became famous due to the mustachioed fisherman "El Bigote," who serves freshly caught fish in his rustic restaurant, which juts out over the sea on wooden planks. However, fame has its downsides: without a reservation, you won't get anything to eat, at least during the peak season. And since there is no phone, you have to go in person. You can also swim in this part of the cove, which is flanked by old fishermen's huts; it is more beautiful a few meters further south over the cliffs, where a short white sandy beach lies.
Sol d'en Serrà (Map)
Much quieter than Cala Llonga, but harder to reach via a long dirt road, is the small beach Sol d'en Serrà in the south of Cap des Llibrell. There is no holiday development here, but a nice restaurant.
Santa Eulària (Map)
An adventure awaits us if we try to find Playa s'Estanyol. But the enchanted little cove with its sandy beach is worth the effort. We start in Jesús, drive a short distance towards Talamanca, and turn left before the old tower. After about 2 km, a field path continues straight ahead, while the asphalt road curves left around the hill. We follow the field path for another 2 km to the sea. If you passed the tower and unexpectedly find yourself at Cap Martinet, don't despair: the road turns north into a field path, which we follow to the end and then turn right down to the sea. Helpful are the hand-painted signs "PK 2," as that is the name of the original beach shack, which opens only in the late afternoon. "PK 2" is, by the way, a funny abbreviation for "pecados" = sins.
Below Cap Martinet lies the shallow, wide bay of Talamanca with a wide sandy beach and holiday development. The municipal boundary to Ibiza Town runs in front of the Hotel Simbad.
Cala Llenya (Map)
The last of the six beaches that are best reached from San Carlos. The lovely small sandy beach is unfortunately disfigured by a construction ruin. The guests of the surrounding holiday developments frequent the two beach shacks. From here, the east coast down to Santa Eulalia is almost seamlessly built up.
Cala d'Olivera / Roca Llisa
Behind the island's only golf club and the exclusive villa complex Roca Llisa lies the tiny Cala d'Olivera. The access is somewhat difficult to find: drive past the golf club and turn left at the beginning of the villa complex, until the road turns into a dirt path. This leads down to the sea.
Cala Martina / S'Argamassa / Cala Pada / Niu Blau (Map)
Between the resort of Es Canar and Santa Eulalia, there are several small coves, some with sandy beaches. All have restaurants and/or beach shacks. Due to the numerous hotels in the area, they are quite crowded during the high season.
The Cala Martina, also called Playa s'Argamassa, lies south of the Punta Arabi headland and is used by visitors and vendors of the hippie market for a quick dip in the waves. And, of course, by the guests of the surrounding hotels.
The Cala Pada is a pretty, family-friendly sandy beach with many watersport opportunities. The eponymous club is discreetly set back.
S'Estanyol
Near Talamanca, there is a short sandy beach. An adventure awaits us if we try to find Playa s'Estanyol. But the enchanted little cove with its sandy beach is worth the effort.
